by Jennifer R Cox, September 4, 2025

It hurts to watch neighbors we love (and even those we don't) vote against their own interests and then defend an administration that cares nothing for them. It feels like a kind of insanity, though I have to wonder who is going mad, the ones who are oblivious to what's coming, or those of us watching helplessly.

Heather Cox Richardson offers some great facts to share out. We have to hope that fewer than ⅓ of Americans are oblivious cultish-followers and that the rest of those who voted for this administration just don't have the facts. So today's newsletter by Heather Cox Richardson offers some good information to share out. click here to read it. You don't have to pay to read her Letters.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that the 10% of Americans at the bottom of the economy will lose about $1,200 a year."

  • there were 927 American billionaires in 2020 and 1,135 in 2024.

  • Trump’s policies are working well for his family, though. Angus Berwick of the Wall Street Journal reported that the Monday launch of their WLFI cryptocurrency netted them about $5 billion on paper. Today Eric Trump launched American Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency mining company; Kyle Khan-Mullins and Dan Alexander of Forbes reported today that he is now worth at least $3.2 billion.

  • commerce secretary’s company is making bets on something the commerce secretary has significant authority over is a perfect symbol of the Trump era.

Heather Cox Richardson calls on us to not give up, to speak the truth, and to call our congressmen and congresswomen.
